Anonymous asked: What advice would you give to someone trying to get into Emory?

honestly, i can’t pretend like i really know the magic formula for getting into a good college. but i can tell you what i did.

work hard in high school  (or at least make it look like you did)—that means keeping your grades up and taking ap/ib classes (if you have that option). work on your writing skills and have your parents and people you know in college read your essays, if they will. get involved with and get leadership roles in clubs, honor societies, and community service organizations—in school and in your community. we love leadership and service here at emory.
additionally, it definitely doesn’t hurt to visit campus and say that you did so when you fill out the application. from what i hear, your demonstrated interest is actually factored into your admission decision.
